Rationale and Disclaimer
WHY ARE SITES LIKE THIS IMPORTANT?
In other times neighbors and friends, all of whom had lived in the same town for a generation or more, could talk face-to-face about the few businesses in their community. The locally-owned-and-operated companies in those small communities were forced to comply with the needs and desires of the clientele or close their doors. This was "democonomics" at its most basic and efficient level: WORD OF MOUTH.
In our current mobile society, companies in higher traffic areas can cater to one-time customers, such as, new move-ins and college students. Wouldn't it be nice to know with which businesses people have had good or bad experiences? As people begin speaking up, new move ins as well as long-time residents will have a better idea of what to expect from local companies. At present most of the SPEAK-UP Results links will go to pages waiting to be filled by satisfied or frustrated customers. Please be patient. We will update as often as we can. Meanwhile, use this Speak-Up website to categorize, identify, and evaluate a business or service with which you have had dealings. Currently we are soliciting speak ups from the Utah County area, however we will accept them from anywhere on the plaNET.
The Speak-Up Form asks you to identify any affiliation or ulterior motives, beyond those of a regular consumer-client. Please be honest. You can remain anonymous or write in any contact information you wish. It will make your comments more believable if others know that you left contact information. You may share contact information with others in the site's SPEAK-UP Blog.
